Ingredients
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients, each playing its part in creating a symphony of flavors. From my early days in the kitchen, I’ve learned that quality ingredients transform simple recipes into extraordinary meals.
- 1 turkey breast, about 2 pounds
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
If fresh cranberries are hard to come by, frozen ones will work just as well. A little tip from my kitchen—always grate the zest before juicing the orange to capture all the vibrant oils.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with foil for easy cleanup.
- In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey, and orange zest. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, cooking until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper.
- Rub the turkey breast with olive oil, then season generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the turkey in the prepared baking dish and brush half of the cranberry-orange glaze over it.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 1 to 1.5 hours, basting with remaining glaze every 30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 10 minutes before slicing, allowing the juices to redistribute.
