The key to this dish lies in selecting fresh, high-quality ingredients. I remember my grandmother’s advice: always choose the freshest produce you can find, as it makes all the difference in the final dish. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Optional: 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, and sauté until translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add garlic, bell peppers, and continue to sauté until the peppers are tender, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the ground turkey. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until it’s no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix everything until well combined.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
