- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature

- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons purple gel food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans. Line the bottoms with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and vinegar until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until smooth.
- Add the purple gel food coloring, adjusting the amount until the desired shade of purple is achieved.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost with cream cheese frosting when completely cool, and enjoy your delightful creation.
