Ingredients
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients. Quality sausages, fresh eggs, and a good cheddar can make all the difference. I’ve learned this over years of cooking both in professional kitchens and at home, where the freshness of ingredients often dictates the joy in every bite.
- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 breakfast sausage links
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
For a twist, consider swapping out cheddar for pepper jack if you enjoy a bit of heat, or use chicken sausage for a lighter option.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Cook the sausages in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, scramble the egg mixture until just set, then remove from heat.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Place a sausage link and a spoonful of scrambled eggs on the wide end of each triangle.
- Sprinkle each with cheese and carefully roll them up, starting from the wide end.
- Place on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
