The key to this dish lies in selecting fresh, quality ingredients that bring out the best flavors. From my days in professional kitchens, I’ve learned that even simple ingredients can shine with the right attention.
- 4 frozen hash brown patties
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Optional: 1 roma tomato, diced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and arrange the hash brown patties on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- While the hash browns are baking, cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- To the avocado, add lime juice, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Mash with a fork until creamy yet chunky.
- Stir in chopped cilantro and diced tomato, if using, to add freshness and a pop of color.
- Once the hash browns are ready, top each with a generous spoonful of the smashed avocado mixture.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra cilantro or a sprinkle of chili flakes for an extra kick.
