Learn how to make delicious Creamy Shrimp & Crab Lasagna. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients

Scale

Gathering fresh ingredients is a ritual I cherish, much like my grandma did. Here’s what you’ll need to recreate this comforting dish:

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup white wine (optional, substitute with broth)
  • 3 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Feel free to swap out ingredients based on what you have on hand or your personal preferences. For instance, you can use cottage cheese instead of ricotta, or add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a hint of heat.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until the shrimp turn pink, about 4 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. Add the white wine to the skillet to deglaze, scraping up any browned bits. Let it reduce for about 2 minutes. If you prefer not to use wine, substitute with an equal amount of broth.
  5. In a large bowl, combine ricotta, 1 cup of mozzarella, 1/2 cup of Parmesan, parsley, basil, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
  6. To assemble, spread a thin layer of the ricotta mixture on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place a layer of noodles over the mixture.
  7. Top with half of the shrimp and crab, followed by a layer of the creamy ricotta mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles.
  8. Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.

Remember, patience is key. Letting the lasagna rest before serving allows all the flavors to meld beautifully.
